Picking the right car wash.

Some people like to wash their own vehicles, but that is time-consuming and you just do not get the some pressure out of a garden hose as you do at a car wash. A typical garden hose will have about 75psi while a car wash will be 1500psi and up. Not to mention, a lot of people who wash their own cars use chemicals like Dawn dish soap which was not made to clean the materials on your car. Often times, dish soap will eat away at the polish on your vehicle . Millions of people also do not have the means to wash their cars at home such as those who live in apartments.

Types of car washes

There is a myriad of choices when it comes to types of car washes but the majority of them can be broken down into three categories.

Self-service wash

If you love the feeling of watching the dirt and mud fall off your pride and joy or you just enjoy being in control of how your car is cleaned then this is your choice. At a self-service car wash you pay a fee to use their brushes, water and soap to clean your vehicle. Most of them also have coin-operated vacs to use and other supplies. So if you love to wash your car but do not have the means to do so at home or do not want to invest in costly cleaning supplies this may be your option.

Hand-Wash Service

At a hand wash service your vehicle is cleaned by trained employees that wash your car by hand. Once done they hand dry it and vacuum it out. This type of service can get costly so unless you have lots of money to blow this type of service is great when you want that extra clean that can only come from trained people with an eye for detail. Remember it is customary to tip once done.

Automated Car Wash

An automated car was is one where pay to drive your car in and put it in neutral while automated brushes move all around your car and nozzles spray soap and water on your car to clean it. Once done, you usually drive thru an air blower to dry it off.

Some people complain that the brushes scratch their vehicles so another option would be a touch-less system. In a touch-less wash system nothing touches your car except soap, water and air.
An automated wash is a good choice if you are in a hurry or do not want to risk the chance of getting dirt on your clothes, like you can in a self-service car wash.
